Data virtualization a way to business success
Atualizado: 31 de Dez de 2019
Data marketplace, the global idea is just like any other marketplace but instead of being all about the fruits, vegetables or flowers it enables the purchase and selling of data, so the data providers and data consumers can connect to a single system to buy and sell data.
BUT how does it works?
This concept can be thought of as sharing data as a service, aligning data providers and data consumers to improve the way that the data is exchanged, by centralizing it all in one place. This allows data providers to improve the quality of the data since the data consumers only pay for the data, they consume.
Since data integration systems usually replicate the data by moving from multiple data sources to a central repository, data virtualization creates a real-time consolidated view of the data without moving any data.
With data virtualization an abstraction layer on top of the physical data sources, helps mask the changes in the infrastructure, and the complexities of managing data models from the business users and data consumers.
One of the aspects that showcase the benefits of data virtualization compared with legacy data integration solutions is the real-time response when integrating data from different systems, such as transactional data, operational and cloud systems.
Data virtualization enables the organization to implement a centralized, consistent a solution focused on the needs of the data consumers and the easy to implement solution for data providers, keeping in mind important topics such as security, data privacy, governance and data catalog.
